Student, are you graduating soon? Do this to keep Tehy's benefits and services

If you are a student member of Tehy and about to graduate, your student membership in Tehy will automatically end. As you get close to graduating, it is time to become a full member. Only then will you maintain the safety net of working life, and all the benefits and services.

Becoming a full member is easy

A student member can fill in an application to become a full Tehy member as early as two months before graduation. You can also become a full member just before you graduate.

Fill in the form with your current information. After joining, you can always report any changes through the e-service.

Use the same form to join the Unemployment Fund for Health and Social Care Professionals. We will pay your Unemployment Fund membership fee on your behalf, and you will be protected against unemployment.

Unable to find a summer job?

Due to co-operation procedures (YT-neuvottelut), it may be difficult for many to find a summer job or their first job right now. However, it is important to keep your membership active, even if you do not yet know where you will be working this summer or in the future.

When you become a full member, all the benefits and services will continue without interruption. If your membership is interrupted, the benefits and services will only resume once you rejoin. In times of uncertainty, a membership is your best safety net.

Only as a member will you keep the safety net and benefits

Because a student membership ends automatically, the benefits and working life security also end with it. Only by becoming a full member can you keep these benefits:

  • The work-related insurance policies you receive through Tehy will remain valid. These insurance policies are essential in your job and serve as protection in case of accidents. Your employer’s insurance does not cover everything.
  • You will receive help from us in all employment matters – when signing a job contract, during employment and at the end of it.
  • Your union representatives, who are professionals in your field. They can help with all matters related to employment, but can only assist members.
  • You can receive legal aid in disputes and criminal cases related to your employment relationship or professional activity in Finland. The excess fee for this is €0.
  • You will retain all other services and benefits. These include our popular training courses and events, the Tehy magazine and other fantastic member benefits that add joy and energy to your life.
